Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving this year was a little bit different. This was the first year since I can remember that our family hasn't all been together. My brother ended up having an outdoor soccer tournament for part of Thanksgiving weekend so he wasn't able to make it back in time which meant that it was just myself, my momma, and my dad.

We had a pretty relaxed day while we waited for the turkey to cook. My dad had they day off for the first time in forever so he was able to get some stuff done around the house while my mom and I got supper ready and then caught up on some Netflix shows.

Just before supper time I decide that I wanted to go all out with our table setting this year. I spent much longer than I care to admit on it, but sometimes it's fun to change things up with decorations. I was really, really happy with how it ended up looking so here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving table.

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the past year and all of the blessings that we have been given. It was so refreshing and encouraging to sit around the table with my family and think about all of the many things that we have to be thankful for. I often struggle with thankfulness because fear so often clouds my sight. My focus is not placed on the blessings in my life but on struggle and difficulty. I am so glad for this time to refocus my vision back where it should be and not on myself. Today I am thankful.

What's something that you're thankful for today?
