My Favourite Things About Christmas.

I think it's important to take notice of the things that make us happy. That's why I've put together a list of some of my favourite things about Christmas time.

  • Egg Nog.

Eggnog is without a doubt one of my favourite things about Christmas. It's one of those things that I wait for all year and when I finally see it in the super markets I need to pick up a couple of cartons immediately! This year I've really tried to limit my eggnog intake because it's not even remotely good for you but it just tastes so good!

  • Christmas Music.

Confession time: I'm that person who starts listening to Christmas music way back in August so by the time that December actually rolls around I am more than caught up on all the lyrics of my favourite Christmas tunes! There's something so comforting in the familiarity of the songs I grew up listening to as a kid.   Favourite Christmas song: Christmas Shoes.

  • Christmas Movies.

I should probably follow the example I set with Christmas music and start watching Christmas movies in August because by the time December rolls around I feel like I have so many good movies to watch and so little time! I am a sucker for any Christmas movie regardless of how horrible the actors may be or how cheesy the plot line is. A Royal Christmas? - I love it! Holiday in Handcuffs? - Sign me up! There's something special about cuddling up with popcorn and your favourite people to watch the snow falling and holiday cheer being spread all around!
Favourite Christmas movie: White Christmas or Elf.

  • Christmas Trees.

Christmas tress are one of my favourite things ever so it is very fitting that they are on this list. I love evergreen trees all year long but as soon as the snow hits my affection for them increases greatly. Their colour, their smell - everything is just magical! I love seeing pretty fairy lights in their boughs and hanging snowflakes all over their branches. My favourite family tradition is ordering Chinese food and eating together while my family puts up our Christmas tree and once the tree is up I could sit for hours looking at it, wishing it would never come down.

  • Holiday Cheer.

This will probably sound pretty cheesy, but one of my most favourite things about Christmas time is the coziness and holiday cheer that goes along with it. From my experience I feel that lots of times people are happier and friendlier around Christmas. People are much more willing to reach out to others with a "merry Christmas" or a Christmas card than they might be throughout the year and often individuals are much more focused on others than on themselves - I really, really like that.
